I have some questions about the LL genotype that is resistant to cwd. Are the animals that have this genotype physically different then the MM and LM type animals? Why aren't the LL's found in nature at a higher rate? Do the LL's have undesirable traits or a weakness that weeds them out in nature? Can a person breed for this genotype(LL) Like we breed paint horses to be homozygous for either the tobiano or the tovero. Where can a person find information on research that has been conducted on this theory? Where and for what cost could a person have our elk profiled for this trait? Could it be done in conjuction with the registration process conducted by naeba? Any info will be greately appreciated. Thank You. JD
