Wild & Wooly sale did great compared to Clearstone. And Clearstone, my many is regarded as the very best, much of W&W's seed stock came from them. One difference, I think that Whitetail are doing better in this market, is simply they would cost less to keep, less feed & less acreage required. I haven't rasied whitetail, I'm just figuring that's the way it is. If you have a herd of 100 elk & if you could maintain them at $300 US a head, that's $30,000 a year. Is your real estate & improvements paid for? How much do you need to run your household for a year? What can you do if animals aren't selling? The innovative and/or lucky will survive & those with a income from something else. But it is a rough market, with velvet values low, CWD fears & governmental transport interference. I am not trying to be negative, I am just trying to have a realistic view.
