Is it true that Elk and Deer can lose copper and become very sickly and even die? A associate of mine says elk and deer make their own copper and need no other supplements, however the same person has had sickly animals drop dead on them, and all they would do for them when elk/deer was in starved looked condition, was give them more alfalfa hay and make them eat wormer and still lose their animals. These animals also had the signs of coats that would not shed properly and dirty rear ends, as was discussed last month on copper additive to their diets.
