I would not dart an animal on any day over 75 degrees F. Nor would I dart one without the proper reversal. Yohimbine is out dated and does not do a very good job.
Rompun (Xylexene) interferes with the animals ability to cool itself off. Doing this on a hot day is asking for trouble. If I had to do it, I would start at 6am and again, never without the reversal (Tolazine).
For a more detailed and specific outline on this entire subject, check out the Farming Wapiti and Red Deer "Bible" by Haigh. Excellent information on this and other issues. Being a little dated though, the Tolazine is not mentioned but again, it is the most current reversal available, and the best.
