Chuck, If your calves are old enough (active enough) to avoid one of your yearlings should the need arise, I would see no problem running the whole group together. Lactating females and yearling heifers have nearly identical nutritional needs, and both could benefit from improved pasture management and additional supplimental feed. The lactating females may become quite dominate over the young-ens, so watch out for that. Also, provide a LOT of feeder space so the yearlings will have ample opportunity to get their share.
